Throughout our entire lives, we acquire and collect so many things for ourselves. Most of these things we have might not have similarities but what most of us do have similarities in, is our comparing habits. From the simplest of things we have, we always tend to have comparisons between ours and others. For instance, if you put two babies together and give one of them a simple toy and the other one nothing then the baby with the toy will be happier than the one without any toys. But now if you give a little fancier toy to the one without any toys then the first one will look at his old toy and at the more fancier one and he will try to swap or snatch the new toy. If he cannot get that new toy he will start to cry or do something else to grab the attention of his audience so that he can have the fancier toy for himself. We might even say this is a common nature of babies but even so, it does imply to all of us.

| If you're willing to understand then everyone is equal in a way. |
From the time we were infants we all have these comparing tendencies. We observe and compare what others have to the things we have. And no matter how good of things we have, this habit of ours will never let us be truly happy. There's always going to be something others have that we don't have. This does not only mean materialistic things, it can be anything. We're not sure exactly why but in our thoughts the things that others have always shines a little more brighter, looks a little more prettier and smells a little more nicer than the things we have. Maybe that's why people say the grass is always greener on the other side.
Comparing habits will destroy happiness.
Even if we have these tendencies to compare things that don't necessarily mean we should do it and spoil our happiness. Sure the things others have might seem nicer but it's always going to be this way. We're never going to be able to completely fill these craves of ours. We are always focused on the things we don't have that we forget to appreciate all the things we actually have. More than being happy about it we end up being sad by comparing it to others. Think of the people who have less than you do. Some people might only wish to be just at your place every day. Just think, the things you have might be shining a little more brighter to others who don't have as much as you do.

| Embrace your surrounding, Someday you might realize that they are your greatest treasure. |
Breaking our comparing habits.
Most of our priorities these days are set on so many luxuries that even if all of our basic needs are fulfilled we are still unhappy that we don't have more. Our comparing tendencies make us think we have less than others but the truth is we have more than enough. We should be grateful for all the things that surround us. Be grateful that you are alive, you got a chance to experience life. Even if we're able to acquire the most shining of things or the prettiest of things, one day we have to leave it all here and move to a different place. Aim high but don't suffocate your happiness in the process of reaching your goals. Being successful is not the only thing to strive for in life, being happy is one too. Learn to cherish life and be happy.Comparing Habits
