Especially following the years of high school drama, I think people begin to compare their accomplishments to the accomplishments of others. You can only compare your progress (or digression) from the person of who you were yesterday. Some face a variety disadvantages, such as: death of a parent at an early age, abuse, rape, being exposed to excessive forms of violence, addiction, poverty, health concerns, physical or emotional disabilities, or divorce. When you see another person and their success compared to yours, do you take into consideration their setbacks compared to yours? Many of times we are all too hard on ourselves, adding significant stress to our daily lives.
Often when we get to a point like this, we correlate the question, ‘why me?’. There is not a simple, easily comprehended answer. Remember everything happens for a reason.
Look at the past, we have learned from our mistakes, and the mistakes of others. We in most cases grateful for our trials, we learned from them. Sooner, or later we realize the blessings in the trial. You maybe having a trial right now, but its just the “storm before the calm.” (–Bev) BE OPTIMISTIC at what your trials can bring you. It may make them more bareable.
